There’s something absolutely delicious about the work of Linda Looman. I can’t entirely put my finger on whether it’s the contrast in color value that attributes to the richness of certain pieces or the painterly quality in which her subjects are rendered.
Her portfolio is a little hit or miss to be frank and I found it difficult to identify a consistency in what subjects evoke a more passionate execution from her, but this patron of ink undeniably excels at singular realist human features.
Ms. Linda hales from Norway and is currently the proprietor of Attitude Tattoo Studio. I love it when a badass chick can take charge like that!
Lady Looman is indisputably a daily-obsession worthy candidate. http://www.myspace.com/electriclindatattoo
I can’t take credit for this gem, because I was tipped off by Cecil Porter, only do my best to express how completely taken I am by the eclectic works of Elvin Yong.
Yong’s multifarious styles are reminiscent of both Shifu Koa-Bing and Jeff Gogue.
The pieces that lend themselves more to Asian influence embody a whimsical spirit, almost gentle in nature. And these are only more so juxtaposed by his more realist black and grays, who’s deep values exude such eccentric power.
It’s as if he’s a cultural Jekyll and Hyde. Pretty fucking fantastic, if I do say so. Having said that, I find myself more emotionally intertwined with his work that stems from Asian Influence.
Regardless, I’m remarkably hooked by daily obsession Elvin Yong. http://www.elvintattoo.com/
